It was published on 15 May, 2018, about the first edition of the Abuja Barracks School Sports that was hosted by the Chief Defense Staff; where children were selected from 6 primary and 6 secondary schools, the sports resulted in discovering new talents.

The 3-day sports event at the Army barracks was conducted by the NRFF officials. The general manager of NRFF, James Goode disclosed his joy over the performance of the school children.
